The minute you start talking about what you’re going to do if you lose, you have lost.

George Shultz

Favorite place to play: Being from Canada, we don’t have the slopitch facilities like they have in the USA. Playing in complexes in Reno NV, Lacey WA, and the Boombah Complex in Tampa FL are all great, but you can’t beat the scenery and atmosphere in St. George UT during the Huntsman Senior Games. And Space Coast in Viera FL, what can you say other than WOW!

Accomplishments: I have been fortunate to be a part of the Miken/Worth Canada Advisory team for 20+ years. On the field, medaling at the Canadian Championships (2 golds and 2 bronze) definitely ranks near the top, but being part of the first Canadian team to win the Senior Softball Worlds and being named MVP in Phoenix and again in Vegas is probably my number one.

Best team played with: I have two, one Canadian and one American. The Canadian team would have to be the Destroyers, who were just a bunch of friends who lived in the same town and enjoyed getting together to play slowpitch on the weekends. This team won gold and bronze in back-to-back years at the Canadian Championships. The American team would be JK Inc., without a doubt the best senior team I have played with to date, winning everything including the Worlds in Vegas.

Best players played with: I could name a few from Canada but none of you would recognize their names, so let’s stick with the Americans. Johnny Bailey and Dennis Ruilli of course and this year, playing with Team USA, I have the honor of adding Jeff Hall and Andy Purcell to the list. This is all somewhat unreal. I am just a bearded, Canadian honored for the opportunity to play with and against the legends in our game.
